Companies and Charitable
Organizations Over the year, you may be sollicited by different charitable organizations or companies wishing to sell you their products. Most of these organizations and companies have not been authorized by the municipality to approach you. Consult your municipality.
Open Air Fires
You are probably aware of the possible devastating effects of open air fires. Consequently, we ask that you strictly respect the SOPFEU notices forbidding open air fires. You can be best informed regarding this information by consulting the notice boards installed at the entrance points to our municipality.
Fire Prevention Service
The municipality has recently purchased an autopump truck for its Fire Prevention Service. Also, in case of fire, it is possible to obtain water from the 5 fire hydrants located throughout our town.
Fire Detectors
The next time you change your clocks (time change), it also means that it’s time to change the batteries in your fire detector. We can never stress enough the importance of having a fire detector. It must be maintained in good operational condition at all times. This simple action may save your life!
Civic Numbers
As per our municipal regulations, each property must show a civic address number. This allows ambulance drivers or police offices to get to your house quickly in case of an emergency (fire, robbery, accident, etc…) Regulations for Home Alarm Systems Our regulation number 909-97 on alarm systems has been adopted by the municipality. Thus, if your property is equipped with an alarm detector, you must be registered at the Régie intermunicipale de Police de la Rivière-du -Nord (tTl: 450 224-8922). This service is free and will allow the police to reach you, a member of your family or your neighbour in case of fire or accidental release of your alarm system.
