Regulations pertaining to Public Works

As per our regulations, it is strictly forbidden to:

Shovel the snow onto public roads
Park along the side of the roads, at all times

Municipal contracts

 

As prescribed by the Municipal Code, we would like to remind you that all municipalities must comply with the law and take the lowest tenderer for public works to be done.  As per the law, contracts less than $25 000 can be given following an agreement, not necessarily with the obligation of an invitation to tender.  However, for contracts from $25 000$ to $99 999, municipal administrations must send, at least to two suppliers, a letter inviting them to present their submission.

 

For mandates from $100 000 to $249 999, all municipalities must put an advertisement by means of an electronic system (SÉAO) accessible in Quebec and in Ontario (AQ03) and in a newspaper, whereas  contracts over the sum of $250 000 must be advertised in an electronic system (SÉAO) and also be accessible in Quebec and in Canada (AC14) and in a newspaper.

 

 

Transportation (embankment)

 

If your are looking for some embankment, please contact our Public Works Department and leave a detailed message. No sorting will be done and we will not either push on some material during the unloading operations on your property.

 

The municipality will not be in a position to give you dates and time of unloading operations on your property.

 

 

Snow removal from your property onto the public road

 

As per the Municipal Code provisions (regulation #127, articles 828 and 830), when you ask for snow removal operations on your property by a private contractor, you must not, in any case, block the public road with your snow.  This way of doing things becomes a problem during our municipal snow removal operations and for the public security on the territory.

 

The municipality will not tolerate this situation that is harmful to the smooth running of its operations and will keep a strong supervision on this matter. You must get rid of your snow within the limits of your lot.

 

 

Parking on the public roads

 

We would like to remind you that it is strictly forbidden, in all circumstances, to park your vehicle along public roads.

 

However, if you are planning a party or other particular event at your residence and expect that many vehicles will have to park close to your property, we ask you to advise your municipality.   A special authorization will be given for the duration of the event, avoiding yourself the bad surprise of a parking ticket !

 

 

Private entrance for your vehicle

 

It is the owner's responsibility to look after the maintenance of its residence drain pipe.  Thus, you must keep it clean at all time to avoid the accumulation of garbages of all kind in order to insure the free water flow.
