THE ECOCENTER

It is now possible for all residents in Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs to get rid of their unwanted objects in a practical and ecological way at the Ecocenter located at 2125, Chemin Jean-Adam (Road 364) in St-Sauveur.

What is an Ecocenter ?

An ecocenter is a site destined to citizens who wish to sort out their unwanted material so that it can be recycled.

Opening hours of the Ecocenter

Until November 30, the Ecocenter will  open 7 days a week from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

From December 1st 2009 to March 30th 2010

The Ecocenter will open only on Tuesdays, Thrusdays and Saturdays between 8:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. and between 12:15 (noon) to 4:30 p.m.

There will be no shredding of branches during this period.

What items are accepted at the Ecocenter ?

§          SOMETHING NEW … green residues (grass, dead leaves) $$$

§          Metal (aluminum, copper, iron, steel)

§          Construction, renovation and demolition material (wood, shingle, bricks, concrete, etc) $$$

§          Household appliances

§          Small electrical appliances

§          Dangerous domestic garbages (paints, solvents, cleaning products, etc)

§          Empty receptacles for paints

§          Batteries, cellular phones, ink cartridges and eco-energetic bulbs

§          Computer and electronic material

§          Recyclable material (paper, cardboard, glass receptacles, plastic and metal)

§          Tires, propane tanks and car batteries

§          Matresses

§          Clothes

§          Branches

A free service of 15 minutes is offered for the shredding of branches on Tuesdays and Saturdays only.  Charges

of $10 are applicable for every additional  5 minutes.  Beyond these days of shredding, you will be charged

0,50¢/cubic ft.

What items are not accepted at the Ecocenter ?

§          Domestic garbages

§          Industrial dangerous garbages

§          Ripped up tires

§          Furniture, mattress, armchair, couch, carpet.

What should I do ?

§          Show a proof of residence to the the employee at the reception;

§          Sort my material in appropriate containers (the employee at the Ecocenter will not sort or unload your items).

What should I know ?

§          The shredding of branches must be done by the employee of the Ecocenter;

§          A container that is not properly sorted may be refused by the recycling partner and may possibly be redirected toward the burial site.

Price scale

§          0,50¢/cubic ft. for construction material and green residues;

§          $5 /tire with rim;

§          $10 for every additional 5 minutes for the shredding of branches;

§          There is no cost pour all other material that is accepted.

MUNICIPAL CONTAINER FOR OTHER OBJECTS

A container located at our «site de sable et sel» (31, ch. du Bouton d'argent) will be available for our citizens for 6 Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  The dates are as follows :

May 22, July 3 and October 9

ONLY THE FOLLOWING OBJECTS WILL BE ACCEPTED :

§          Mattress

§          Carpet

§          Armchair

§          Couch.

COLLECT OF RECYCLING MATERIAL

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION !

Regularly, we receive some phone calls at the city hall regarding the collect of recycling material.  Thus and despite the fact that many of you believe that it is done systematically every two weeks, it is not the case.  This collect is done every 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month.  Please check on your calendar.  When Christmas and the New Year coincide with a collection day, keep in mind that in such a case, it will be picked up the following day.
